Anthony Vanden Borre could replace West Ham's Matthew Upson

West Ham are lining up Anthony Vanden Borre as a possible replacement for Matthew Upson.

The Hammers have said that Upson may have to be sold and manager Avram Grant is looking at Vanden Borre — who was on-loan with Portsmouth last season — to come into his defence.

Genoa won’t stand in Vanden Borre’s way if the right offer comes |in and Cologne are |already in the race to snap up the 22-year-old, but Grant is confident of a reunion.
