Celtic look to Everton boss Moyes

Celtic have identified David Moyes as their number one target to replace Gordon Strachan.

There is growing speculation that the former Manchester United midfielder will leave Parkhead at the end of the season and the Hoops have turned their attention to the Everton chief.

Toffees chairman Bill Kenwright says Moyes has all the qualities to manage a top European side but he hopes to keep the Scot on Merseyside.

There were rumours that Moyes could succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford but the Glasgow giants are a more likely destination.

Kenwright said: "He is good enough to manage Barcelona, but he's going nowhere. It is laughable to suggest that David is going anywhere.

"David has just signed a new long-term contract. Is he the kind of man who would do that if he is not going to stay here?"
