Liverpool and Manchester United have both been handed tough ties in the Champions League last 16.

Liverpool will take on Bayern Munich while United face PSG. Tottenham will play Borussia Dortmund and finally, Manchester City, as the only group winners among the four, have been drawn against Schalke.

Liverpool will host Bayern Munich in the first leg on Tuesday, February 19 and travel for the second leg on Wednesday, March 13.

The sides have not met in a competitive fixture since the 2001 UEFA Super Cup, which Liverpool won 3-2 thanks to goals from John Arne Riise, Emile Heskey and Michael Owen.

"We obviously know more about German football than about any other league, that’s true, but that doesn’t make a big, massive difference. In the end, the boys have to decide it on the pitch. Let’s give it a try," said Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, whose side will be without the suspended Virgil Van Dijk for their first leg against the Bundesliga champions.

Manchester United and PSG have never before met in competitive football. Their first leg will be played on Tuesday, February 12, with the second leg on Wednesday, March 6.

Following a 3-1 Premier League defeat at Liverpool on Sunday, being paired against the runaway Ligue 1 leaders, who scored 17 goals in their Group C campaign to qualify ahead of the Reds, was perhaps not the most kindest draw which United boss Jose Mourinho would have been hoping for.

Spurs were ousted from the Europa League by their opponents Dormund in 15/16, but got their revenge last season when they beat the German side home and away in the Champions League group stage. Tottenham will host Dortmund on Wednesday, February 13 and go to Germany on Tuesday, March 5.

Manchester City and Schalke have played each other only once, City winning 2-0 in the Europa League back in 2008. City will travel to Schalke on Wednesday, February 20 and host the return leg on Tuesday, March 12.

There has also been a big draw in the Europa League:
