Chelsea chase top class duo as Manchester United target Barcelona player: Premier League transfer rumours
Chelsea have opened talks over America superstar Christian Pulisic, according to the latest transfer rumours.
The Blues have enquired about his availability from curent club Borussia Dortmund, according to the Mirror. Pulisic is widely thought to be available for £65m after reportedly refusing to renew his contract, which expires in two years.
The teenager has already amassed 21 caps for the USA and is tipped for a big future. Rumours of his availability have sparked fans of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United. Liverpool are said to be long-term admirers but the Mirror report that Chelsea are stealing a march on their rivals for the young star's signature.
If he does sign for Chelsea, Pulisic could arrive as a replacement for Willian. The Mail reports that he and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois have been the subject of a £100m offer from Real Madrid. The LaLiga giants could be more prepared to meet Willian's £70million asking price after Barcelona stepped away from deal last week while Belgian goalkeeper Courtois - with one year remaining on his contract - is said to be keen on a move back to Spain.
Chelsea could also land Juventus centre-back Mattia Caldara. The 24-year-old appears to be the top defensive target for the club, overtaking team-mate Daniel Rugani for a switch to Stamford Bridge, according to the Mirror. Rugani had been thought to be in line for a £45million move to the Premier league but the Blues are now reportedly more interested in making a £40million offer for Caldara.
Meanwhile, Manchester United could look to Barcelona to add to their defensive options. Manager Jose Mourinho certainly doesn't seem convinced by his current squad and Spanish outlet Sport report that United have contacted Barca over a potential move for Yerry Mina. The 23-year-old is also the subject a bid from Everton, says the article, but is only United's back-up option, should they fail to land Leicester City's Harry Maguire.
Mina has added to the rumours he's heading to Old Trafford thanks to his social media activity as he started following Manchester United, club captain Antonio Valencia and Paul Pogba on Instagram. The Colombian scored three times at the World Cup but started just four La Liga games after joining Barca in January and has been widely linked with a move away.
Peter Crouch's time in the Premier League may not be over, according to The Sun. The striker has found himself heading for the Championship after Stoke's relegation at the end of last term but could now be set to return to the top flight following interest from Burnley. The paper says boss Sean Dyche is poised to make a £500,000 bid for the 37-year-old.
Fulham are edging closer to completing a deal with Swansea defender Alfie Mawson, the Daily Mail says, with an agreement set to be made this week. The former England Under-21 international is said to be eager for a move to London and is valued at around £25million.
