China's spending power a threat to clubs worldwide: Conte

By Robert Jones

Antonio Conte says no club in the world is safe from Chinese money.

The Chelsea boss was speaking as it emerged Carlos Tevez is to become the highest paid player in the world at Shanghai Shenhua, pocketing £615,000 a week as part of his record-breaking deal. And Chelsea will lose midfielder Oscar to former Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas, now in charge at Shanghai SIPG.

Conte said: "The Chinese market is a danger for all teams in the world, not only for Chelsea but for all teams in the world.

"I think we must concentrate on our work and not think that in China there is a lot of money and they can take the players.

"I think that this league (Premier League) is fantastic and to play in this league is a great opportunity and an honour.

"I think it is now the best league in the world to play."
