Liverpool end the day on top of the Premier League table as Manchester City's unbeaten run has been brought to an end.

Ngolo Kante and David Luiz got the goals as Chelsea won 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to leave Jurgen Klopp's Reds as the only unbeaten team left in this year's league campaign.

Many had suggested this season's City team could go on to replicate Arsenal's Invincibles team but that notion has been put to bed.

Despite City pressure in the first half, Kante puts the hosts into the lead on the stroke of half-time. The French midfielder burst into the box and slammed home Eden Hazard's cut-back with aplomb.

While City pressed the Chelsea defence in the second period, they failed to threaten Kepa's goal and that allowed David Luiz to nod home from a corner and seal Chelsea's success.

Liverpool are a point clear of City at the top after 16 games, while Chelsea are eight points behind in third.
