Decision due on Terry 'race' claim
Prosecutors are expected to announce today whether footballer John Terry will be charged over his alleged racial slur against Anton Ferdinand.
The Chelsea and England star has denied racially abusing the Queens Park Rangers defender during a Barclays Premier League match on October 23.
A Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) spokeswoman said a decision will be announced this afternoon.
Shortly after the allegations were made, Terry issued a statement saying: "I've seen that there's a lot of comments on the internet with regards to some video footage of me during the game.
"I'm disappointed that people have leapt to the wrong conclusions about the context of what I was seen to be saying to Anton Ferdinand.
"I would never say such a thing, and I'm saddened that people would think so."
Last week it emerged that prosecutors had asked police for more information regarding the incident.
The Sun reported that new video evidence, featuring previously unseen footage from TV cameras, had been handed to the CPS.
