Bolton manager Owen Coyle fears defender Marcos Alonso could be set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines after injuring his foot in Tuesday night's 2-1 win over Blackburn.
Alonso left the field after half-time with his boot removed and Coyle confirmed the player would be sent for X-rays to assess the damage. The 20-year-old former Real Madrid youngster has only just recovered from a broken foot he sustained in August and Coyle is worried Alonso may have suffered a repeat break.
"The disappointing thing was that Marcos picked up an injury," said the Bolton chief.
"We have sent him for an X-ray because we are concerned he has fractured the same foot again.
"Hopefully not, but we will see."
