Have Adidas just confirmed Zlatan Ibrahimovic's new deal and number at Manchester United?

By Gareth Hanna

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is hotly-tipped to sign a new deal at Manchester United - and the club's kit manufacturers have fuelled that fire.

The 35 year-old Swede has been out since April, when he suffered a cruciate ligament injury during United's Europa League victory over Anderlecht.

Ibrahimovic has since undergone surgery and has been rehabilitating at Manchester United's Carrington training ground, despite the club not offering him a second year on his contract at the end of last season.

But it now seems that Zlatan has earned a new deal at the club.

First Eric Bailly tweeted Ibrahimovic awaiting his 'return' and now Adidas' US store offers fans a shirt with 'Ibrahimovic 10' on the back. Have a look:

One of the options on Adidas' US website might have given away Manchester United's next signing.

The Swede, of course, wore number nine at the club last season, but summer signing Romelu Lukaku has now taken over that spot.

The Daily Mail have claimed that Ibrahimovic has been putting in such long hours working towards his return that the club's canteen staff have been under instruction to plate up his meals and leave them on the counter. And by the time he gets to unpack it, Jose Mourinho's squad - and the dinner staff - have all called it a day.

His new deal is no surprise to the club staff then - nor to the surgeon who carreid out his operation. The Mail report that Dr Freddie Fu had never seen a knee as strong as Zlatan's - with the striker readying his return after one bout of surgery when many suffering the same injury require double.

You know Zlatan will just love that sort of talk.
