Hull's third-choice goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic is determined to make the most of his unexpected opportunity.

The Swiss stopper was sent on loan to Leyton Orient last season - during a campaign when he made just one Barclays Premier League appearance - and was again well behind Allan McGregor and Steve Harper in the Tigers pecking order this term.

But a shoulder injury to the Scot and a bicep problem for his understudy saw Jakupovic start against Liverpool on Saturday.

He acquitted himself well, holding on to a clean sheet at Anfield in a 0-0 draw, and is expected to keep the gloves for the next two games at least.

The November international break should allow McGregor or Harper enough time to recover, but Jakupovic hopes to leave manager Steve Bruce with a tough call.

"I very much enjoyed Saturday and I'm very happy about the clean sheet, but even more happy with the point," he told the club's official website.

"I was a little bit nervous with it being Liverpool away at Anfield, I wasn't very relaxed, but after the first save from (Mario) Balotelli, everything went away.

"I could enjoy the clean sheet on Saturday, but now my focus is on next weekend.

"I will try my best to stay in the team and I want to try and give the manager a difficult decision, but ultimately it is up to him. I just want to show people what I can do.

"I work hard every day with Gary Walsh, our goalkeeping coach, and I know I need to prove myself with every game to be a part of this team."
