Klopp urges Reds fans to hail Brendan
Jurgen Klopp wants Brendan Rodgers to receive a warm welcome at Anfield this afternoon and he doesn't believe the Ulsterman is to blame for the failures that cost him his job at Liverpool.
Rodgers brings his Leicester City side to Anfield (3pm) and Pool boss Klopp hopes the 46-year-old is given a warm welcome after almost steering the Reds to title glory in 2014.
"The reception I think will be good, from my side and from the supporters as well," said Klopp. "I hope from the fans the reception will be okay. He's doing really well. I'm not surprised to be honest. I knew when I came (to Liverpool) that he was not the reason that things didn't work out.
"And since then he did an incredible job at Celtic and then Leicester, rebuilding a lot of the players who were there before him. Good signings as well, and a brilliant team."
Klopp, who currently rents Rodgers' house in Formby, added: "All the issues from a couple of years ago, when we started living in his house, are sorted. We love living there. We pay our rent for him, so I'm not sure he has to work but he still does. You're welcome!"
Premier League leaders Liverpool are five points clear of Manchester City, who host Wolves tomorrow (2pm).
