Norwich have announced that long-serving midfielder Simon Lappin has left the club by mutual consent.

Lappin arrived at Carrow Road in 2007 and played a big part in helping the club achieve back-to-back promotions, but he has struggled to break in to the first-team during Norwich's time in the Barclays Premier League.

"I would like to wish him all the very best for the future," said Canaries boss Chris Hughton, who loaned the 29-year-old to Cardiff earlier this season.
