Liverpool close in on Keita as well as two other world class stars and today's other transfer rumours

Keita bid rejected, Van Dijk talks reopen and Reds lead Aubameyang chase according to today's transfer talk

Liverpool are tipped to be on the chase for a trio of top talent in today's rumour mill.

First of all, the Anfield club have had an offer for NABY KEITA turned down by RB Leipzig, according to Bild. The Reds lodged a £57 million bid and, according to the German outlet, are set to come back with an improved offer, despite Leipzig claiming the midfielder is not for sale.

More surprisingly, the Metro reports that Liverpool could be leading the race to sign PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG. Premier League champions Chelsea are also said to be keen on the Borussia Dortmund attacker but Jurgen Klopp's links to the German club could prove key.

Thirdly, a football lawyer with links to the club has said Liverpool have reopened negotiations with Southampton for defender VIRGIL VAN DIJK. The Dutch centre-back is thought to be keen on a move to Anfield but Liverpool apologised earlier this summer after the Saints became aggrieved over the Reds' pursuit of one of their star assets.

Now Daniel Vanderkamp, who worked with Liverpool during their deal to sign Christian Benteke two years ago, says the move could be back on the cards.

"Got told things are moving along now with LFC and Southampton," he tweeted.

"I don't know if he's handed in a request, just that the clubs are back negotiating."

Vanderkamp appears to have closed his Twitter account after media reports of his tweet.

Meanwhile, the Independent reports that West Ham are set to beat Newcastle to the loan signing of Manchester City goalkeeper JOE HART. The deal is expected to include an option to make the switch permanent if the England international impresses at the London Stadium. Newcastle will switch their attention to Hammers keeper DARREN RANDOLPH once the Hart deal goes through, according to the Newcastle Chronicle.

Juventus are preparing to join Manchester United in a bidding war for Chelsea midfielder NEMANJA MATIC, says the Daily Mail. Matic will be allowed to depart Stamford Bridge once the Blues tie up a deal for Monaco's TIEMOUE BAKAYOKO. However, the Daily Express claims that Arsenal are prepared to offer ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN in a part-exchange deal to bring Matic to north London.

QPR defender STEVEN CAULKER looks set to rebuild his career at Celtic, claims the Mirror. The 25-year-old, who won a solitary England cap in 2012, previously worked under Brendan Rodgers during a season-long loan spell with Swansea.

The same paper reports that, having secured the services of KYLE WALKER, Manchester City will move to fill their full-back spot on the left flank by pursuing Monaco's BENJAMIN MENDY.
