Liverpool eye three world class midfielders in January as Manchester United want Premier League star: transfer rumours
With the Philippe Coutinho transfer rumours rumbling on as ever, Liverpool have been linked with moves for three La Liga midfielders in the latest transfer rumours.
First of all, the Reds are said to have an interest in Croatian midfielder IVAN RAKITIC. Don Balon have claimed that the 29-year-old is the Barcelona player that Jurgen Klopp would want most in return, should Coutinho's much-rumoured move to the Nou Camp go through. The report claims that the Reds have already rejected Arda Turan, Paco Alcácer or André Gomes being included in the deal. Rakitic has started 14 of Barcelona's 16 La Liga games so far this season but Don Balon say that boss Ernesto Valverde could be willing to let him leave if Coutinho is brought in.
Secondly, the same report says that another Barcelona player that is of interest to those at Anfield is Spanish defensive midfielder SERGI ROBERTO. According to Don Balon, the 25-year-old's negotiations for a new contract are at an impasse. Roberto has been playing at right-back for Barcelona this season and can also feature on the wing.
Meanwhile, other reports in Spain suggest that Liverpool could be set to bring in Atletico Madrid midfielder NICO GAITAN on loan in January. Marca, via teamtalk.com, claim that the Argentinian is being eyed as a possible replacement for Coutinho. Gaitan, who has started only 12 La Liga games since moving from Benfica in summer 2016, is said to favour a move to England although he is also reportedly attracting interest from France.
Away from Anfield and Manchester United are plotting a £90million move for Chelsea star Eden Hazard, according to the Sun. It has been reported in Spain the Belgian international was in "advanced negotiations" with Real Madrid, but Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing the 26-year-old to Old Trafford.
Olivier Giroud could well be on his way out of the Emirates, according to the Daily Mirror. The centre-forward wants more game time as he bids to make the World Cup in Russia and his agent has reportedly said he will consider his future next month as the transfer window opens.
Another player reported to be leaving Arsenal is Theo Walcott, with new Everton boss Sam Allardyce looking to hand the striker a fresh start at Goodison Park, reports the Mirror. Steven N'Zonzi is also on Allardyce's shopping list, but will have to fend off interest from Arsenal and West Ham, the paper says.
David Luiz's future makes the papers for a third day in a row as the Shields Gazette reports Newcastle want to take the 30-year-old on loan from Chelsea. Earlier this week, the Daily Express said that Arsenal are considering making a move for the defender while the Daily Mail said Real Madrid and Juventus are looking at making an offer.
Brighton have renewed their interest in striker Ze Luis, according to the Sun. The Seagulls have already bid £5million for the Cape Verde international and will make a second move, the paper said.
