Liverpool look to top class trio while Real Madrid close in on Kane: transfer rumours

Liverpool's interest in Thomas Lemar and Leon Goretzka have long been reported but as the club face up to life without Philippe Coutinho and Emre Can, three more names have entered the frame.

The first is Real Madrid midfielder DANI CABELLOS, who Diario Gol claim is edging closer to a move to Anfield after meeting with Liverpool representatives. Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane is said to be reluctant to let the 21-year-old leave this month, despite the fact that he has started only two La Liga matches since his summer transfer from Real Betis. The Spaniard has 18 competitive caps for the national U21 team.

If Cabellos does turn up in Liverpool's midfield, he could find himself playing alongside KEVIN STROOTMAN. According to Premium Sport, via the Express, the Reds have held initial discussions over a possible move for the 27-year-old this month. Liverpool, of course, bought Mohamed Salah from the Italian club during the summer but should perhaps be wary of signing midfield players from the club. Remember Alberto Aquilani anyone?

The third name to be linked with a move to Anfield is Borussia Dortmund striker PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG. The Gabon striker has been linked with a move to China but LeSport10, via Sky Sports, claim that Liverpool are ready to use some of the Coutinho transfer money to bring him to Anfield. The 28-yeaqr-old has netted 13 goals in 15 Bundesliga games this season.

Tottenham and Real Madrid are reportedly in advanced negotiations over HARRY KANE, with the 24-year-old reportedly keen to wear the number 10 shirt for Los Blancos. The Daily Express says reports in Spain suggest the England international is planning to quit the Premier League, with a move to Real firmly in his sights.

JACK WILSHERE is expected to hold new contract talks with Arsenal next week, the Mirror reports. The paper says the club are finally ready to make a formal contract offer to the 26-year-old midfielder, but he has been warned he may have to accept a pay cut if he wants to stay with the Gunners. Wilshere's current deal expires at the end of the season.

Manchester United's ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC is expected to leave Old Trafford later this year, the Mirror reports. The paper says the Red Devils are considering replacements, and that he could potentially leave before he is out of contract at the end of United's current campaign.

Southampton are plotting a transfer bid for Atletico Madrid's NICOLAS GAITAN, the Mirror reports. But the paper says Mauricio Pellegrino will face competition from Crystal Palace and Everton for the 29-year-old, who has fallen out of favour at the Spanish club.

Newcastle are said to be eyeing up Sparta Prague goalkeeper MARTIN DUBRAVKA after Kevin Trapp opted to stay at Paris St Germain. The Daily Mail says Slovakia international Dubravka is Rafael Benitez's latest transfer target, as the club continue their hunt for a new goalkeeper.

Players to watch

REECE OXFORD: The West Ham defender could get a permanent move to Borussia Monchengladbach, providing the side increase their offer to around £15 million, according to the Telegraph. The paper says Monchengladbach had already offered around £8m for the 19-year-old, but this was rejected by West Ham.

LUCAS MOURA: Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign the 25-year-old from Paris St Germain, the Daily Mail reports. The paper says the Brazilian winger, who was a target for Sir Alex Ferguson in 2012, could sell for about £25m.
