Henderson hopes Liverpool are kitted out for success

Jordan Henderson says Liverpool are in the groove ahead of the Europa League final with Sevilla next Wednesday.

"We can sense in the stadium and at Melwood that things are going well," said the England midfielder, set to be named in Roy Hodgson's squad for Euro 2016 on Thursday. "Hopefully we can carry that on until the last game.

"Jurgen Klopp has made a massive difference. The progression is huge. You can see the belief and everyone is buzzing."

Henderson was talking at the launch of Liverpool's new kit in the city last night.

He was joined on stage by Philippe Coutinho, Simon Mignolet and Jon Flanagan. Reds legends Robbie Fowler and Jason McAteer were also in attendance, as were Gemma Bonner and Natasha Harding from the Ladies team.

Liverpool skipper Henderson said: "I think it's nice.

"There's a few different things. The side vents are meant to help us cool down - but that's not working right now," he joked as the weather showed no signs of relenting.

The home kit, designed by New Balance, is labelled High Risk red in colour with flashes of Amber yellow.

There is little change from the previous number, other than a buttoned-style collar complete with gold trim.

Manager Klopp seemed pleased enough with the strip.

The German said: "This team has the winning mentality and now, with this spectacular new home kit, every player will look the part lighting up Anfield."

Former Republic of Ireland international and Liverpool favourite McAteer said: "The team is playing well. We have had some great results.

"The second leg against Borussia Dortmund was one of those very special nights and to get to the final is a dream come true.

"The club is moving forward in the right direction."

Liverpool legend Fowler is a fan of the new attire and he added: "When you're a player, you can't wait for the kit to come out - mainly to see how you look in it.

"I think it's fantastic, I've seen the kit. I always liked the kit that I scored goals in. I'd probably say the 1996 kit because that's when I was probably at my best."

The brand new replica home kit is available now and will be in Official Liverpool FC stores, including the Liverpool store in Northern Ireland, located in Castle Lane in Belfast, and online at
