Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has said it would take 'something crazy' for him to add to his squad this month but the rumour mill reckons it has uncovered two crazy somethings.
First of all, L'Equipe (via Sky Sports) have reported that the Reds have held a 'series of meetings' with regard to bringing in out-of-favour PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The 23-year-old has reportedly been banned from the dressing room of the French champions until his future is resolved. Rabiot's contract is due to expire this summer but Liverpool have competition with Barcelona also heavily linked. Rabiot has not featured for PSG since coming off the bench in their Champions League tie against Red Star Belgrade on December 11.
Another player who could make a January move to Anfield is Bristol City left-back Lloyd Kelly. Alberto Moreno went on record to discuss his dismay at his lack of game-time at Anfield and could be set for a move away. With back-up to Andy Robertson required, the Express claims that Kelly could be the man for the job. The 20-year-old has started 21 Championship games so far this term.
Looking to the summer, Liverpool could be set to add to their options up top. The Reds completed business with Red Bull Leipzig to sign Naby Keita and will look to do so again, this time with respect to striker Timo Werner. German outlet Abendzeitung report that Jurgen Klopp has had the 22-year-old watched, most recently when his side beat Borussia Monchengladbach. Bayern Munich have also been linked with the forward, who has netted 11 goals in 17 Bundesliga appearances this season.
Meanwhile, Thierry Henry is looking to reunite with Cesc Fabregas in January and bring the Chelsea man to Monaco, according to the Daily Mail. Fabregas’ deal at Stamford Bridge expires in the summer and he has only started one game in the Premier League so far this season.
Another potential Chelsea departure is Gary Cahill, with Claudio Ranieri looking to sign the defender on loan at Fulham, reports The Sun.
Inter Milan have got Manchester United defender Ashley Young in their sights and will be hoping to tempt the 33-year-old to Serie A over the summer, the Daily Mirror reports. Young has been at Old Trafford since 2011 but his deal expires over the summer.
West Ham are looking to sign Everton midfielder James McCarthy over the winter transfer window, the Daily Mail says.
