Liverpool's season isn't over yet, with the Champions League final to come next Saturday night.
But that hasn't started the transfer rumours from kicking off after the window swung open on Thursday. Already the Reds have been linked with a raft of top players.
Included in those is Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele. The 21-year-old has started just 11 La Liga games in an injury-ravaged campaign since his move from Borussia Dortmund last summer. That deal could reach figures as big as £135m, but already reports have suggested the Catalan club may sell the French star. Now the Sun claims Liverpool are in pole position because Barca still owe the Reds money for Philippe Coutinho.
Also linked with a move to Anfield is legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. The 40-year-old will play his final game for Juventus this weekend and his agent has already confirmed he has had a number of offers from other clubs. The Sun reckon Liverpool and Manchester City have both made offers to the Italian, who joined Juve from Parma way back in 2001.
One of the other names tipped with a transfer to the Reds is Lyon ace Nabil Fekir. He is widely tipped as one of Jurgen Klopp's top targets this summer and fuelled the talk when he refused to discuss his future ahead of Lyon's last game of the season against Nice. “As I said before, my only priority is to win this match against Nice," he is quoted as saying. “I am only thinking about this. After the match, we’ll see.”
Elsewhere, Alvaro Morata looks likely to leave Chelsea in the summer, with Borussia Dortmund joining Juventus in chasing the striker, according to the Daily Mirror. The German club have been told they will not be able to keep Michy Batshuayi after his loan spell this season.
Another potential arrival at the Etihad is Napoli’s Jorginho, with the Premier League champions looking as if they will beat Liverpool to the midfielder’s signature, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Kalidou Koulibaly: Napoli have put a hefty £104.7million price tag on the centre-back in a bid to fend off interest from Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United, RAI Sport reports.
Connor Goldson: Rangers are still interested in signing the Brighton defender despite having an initial offer rejected, reports the Argus.
Ruben Neves: Wolves’ player of the season wants to stay at the promoted club despite interest from Premier League sides including Liverpool and Manchester United, the Express and Star says.
