Watch: Liverpool confirm Fabinho signing from Monaco

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Fabinho.

It had been rumored Monaco accepted an offer in the region of £45m on Monday night.

It is thought the 24-year-old will replace German Emre Can whose contract ends next month.

"This is something that I always wanted," he told the club's website. "This is a giant of a team. The infrastructures of the club look exceptional."

The Brazilian has been capped four times by his country and was on the radar of PSG and Manchester United before opting for Merseyside.

For Monaco he made 225 appearances scoring nine goals in five seasons. The midfielder officially joins on July 1.

“I am really excited about this move," he added.

“A football club of this size coming after my services, I didn’t have to think that much about coming over.

“I will try to create my own history at this football club. Hopefully, on a personal level, I’m able to win titles with this club.

“I will try to grow and learn and improve myself, and to be part of the club’s history.”
