Pellegrini reveals Cristiano Ronaldo admiration before Real Madrid test
Cristiano Ronaldo wanted to be the biggest Galactico the moment he arrived at Real Madrid, according to Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini.
The Chilean was Ronaldo's first manager at the Spanish giants and was blown away by the mental strengths that underpinned his incredible natural talent. In Pellegrini's only season in charge in 2009-10, Real Madrid collected a record points total and scored more than 100 league goals, but lost the title to Barcelona by three points.
Now Pellegrini is charged with denying the Portuguese star his fourth Champions League final as City face the ten-times winners in the semi-final first-leg at the Etihad on Tuesday.
Pellegrini said: "I saw from the first moment his desire was to be the best player and to play every game. You could see that desire in every game and every training session."
