Silva's one of the best in my eyes: Pep
Pep Guardiola said David Silva was "one of the best players" he has seen after the 33-year-old marked his 400th appearance for Manchester City with two assists in the 3-1 win at Bournemouth.
Sergio Aguero scored twice and Raheem Sterling was also on target as the champions moved up to second in the Premier League, two points behind leaders Liverpool.
Silva began the move for Aguero's opener and then provided assists for Sterling and Aguero to add to the Blues' tally.
"He played incredibly well. David in this kind of game - with a defence so deep and with such few spaces - is so good," Guardiola said. "He's one of the best players I've ever seen."
Silva has assisted more than once in 14 separate Premier League games - only Ryan Giggs and Cesc Fabregas have done so more often. Aguero's second goal was his 400th career goal for club and country, with 235 of those coming for City.
Meanwhile, club record signing Joelinton's first goal in English football gave Newcastle United a surprise 1-0 win at Tottenham as Steve Bruce bagged his first points as their manager.
Raul Jimenez scored a stoppage-time penalty to salvage a point for Wolves and deny Burnley victory in a 1-1 draw at Molineux.
