Nemanja Matic is eager to leave Chelsea and sign for Manchester United, according to Jose Mourinho.

A £40million deal is close to being agreed between the clubs for the Serbia midfielder.

Mourinho brought Matic to Chelsea in 2014 and when asked about the possibility of a reunion, said: "I know that he wants that very, very much and when a player wants very, very much the chance is bigger."

A photo of Matic wearing a United training kit emerged on social media yesterday  to fuel speculation it was a done deal.

United sealed a 3-0 friendly win over Valerenga in Norway last night with Romelu Lukaku, Marouane Fellaini and 20-year-old Scott McTominay on target.
