Marouane Fellaini loses his afro ahead of his 31st birthday... and his team-mates aren't having it!
Yep, it's official. The 'fro is gone.
Ahead of his 31st birthday tomorrow, Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has had his signature afro shaved off and is now sporting a completely unfamiliar short-haired look.
The Belgium star tweeted: "New year, new look #birthdaytomorrow" accompanied with three pictures of him without the hairstyle he has become so well-known for.
But his Manchester United and international compatriots did not like the change at all, and took to Instagram to voice their displeasure.
United defender Eric Bailly sent a reply with 22 laughing faces followed by "nooooooooooooooo", with Belgium team-mate Dries Mertens weighing in with the same response, while Belgium captain Vincent Kompany queried: "It's photoshopped, it can't be true!!"
Former United winger Wilfried Zaha posted "Omggggg" in reply, and former Everton team-mate Victor Anichebe went for a more humorous response, adding: "bro you could've at least got a proper shape up."
Romelu Lukaku, who plays with Fellaini at United and internationally for Belgium, simply commented "tu la fait", which means "you did it".
Needless to say, Fellaini's decision to get the afro removed has caused plenty of debate, with Ajah Chigozie on Twitter summing up what a lot of people are thinking.
