Pogba's penalty pain as United held by Wolves
Paul Pogba missed his fourth Premier League penalty in a year last night as Manchester United failed to return to the top of the table with the Red Devils being held 1-1 at Molineux by Wolves.
The French World Cup winning midfielder was brought down in the box by Conor Coady and then immediately demanded the ball to himself take the spot kick ahead of usual taker Marcus Rashford.
It was a decision that proved rueful as Wolves keeper Rui Patricio dived the correct way, springing to his right and palming away Pogba's powerful penalty.
That meant Ruben Neves' sensational equaliser in the 53rd minute saw the hosts earn a deserved share of the spoils, the Portugal midfielder curling in a fantastic shot from the edge of the box following a well-worked move.
It had looked good for the visitors after Anthony Martial put United ahead in the first half, rifling a left-footed drive high over Patricio's shoulder just before the half hour mark.
However, their hopes of joining Liverpool and Arsenal as the only sides with 100% records from the opening two games were dashed by Neves' second half brilliance and Pogba's inability to convert from the spot.
