Manchester United are into the FA Cup quarter-finals after Man of the Match Paul Pogba's goal and assist during the first half at Stamford Bridge.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men now face a tricky trip to Wolves in the last eight after both the Manchester clubs were drawn away from home.

The French midfielder laid the opening goal on a plate with a few stepovers working space for an inch perfect cross as Pogba cut back on the left flank.

He turned scorer on the stroke of half-time, diving to head home and put United two clear by the break:

Speaking to the BBC, Pogba admitted that winning a trophy under Solskjaer is the ultimate goal.

"We play to win trophies. He came to do this job because obviously he can do it.

"He trusts us and we trust him. We go for it. You never know if you are going to win it but we will play to win."

Ander Herrera told BBC One: "We had to fight until the end. I played a more offensive role today because we knew they are struggling on that side of the pitch.

"It was a fantastic game. When you play with these kind of players, you can make that run and know you are going to get the ball."

Solskjaer, meanwhile, hailed a "fantastic" performance from his side.

He said: "The tactics worked - we asked Ander and Paul, our midfielders next to Nemanja (Matic), to go a bit higher and get into the box more often with Rom (Lukaku) and Marcus (Rashford) wide, so it worked.

"But the defending - when we had to - was fantastic. Chris (Smalling), who has been out for two months, played again and was fantastic."
