Mbia makes QPR claim
Stephane Mbia claims he has made up his mind to join QPR despite his love for Marseille and a rival bid from Fenerbahce.
The Cameroon midfielder, 26, is set to become Mark Hughes' 10th signing of the summer after agreeing to leave the team where he has spent the past three seasons.
Having won Ligue 1 in 2010 and three successive Coupe de la Ligue titles since moving from Rennes, he admits he is leaving with a heavy heart but is relishing his new challenge. "Marseille is still in my heart," he said. "I won my first titles here. I have chosen Queens Park Rangers despite a last-minute bid from Fenerbahce."
He went on to say: "It's a new challenge to enjoy. I always aim as high as possible.
"I am excited but calm over this move. I will discover another world."
There was no comment from QPR when contacted by Press Association Sport.
