Northern Ireland defender Ryan McGivern looking for new loan deal
Ryan McGivern is set to put dreams of a first-team debut at Manchester City on hold for at least another 12 months by heading out on another loan deal.
The Northern Ireland defender wasn’t included in the City squad for their pre-season trip to the United States — which will include friendlies against Sporting Lisbon and Inter Milan — and will now seek a season elsewhere.
McGivern spent last season with Leicester City in the Championship, but found it hard to dislodge Bruno Berner from the left-back position and played only 15 times.
Oldham Athletic — managed by Paul Dickov who knows McGivern from both Manchester City and Leicester — are keen to take McGivern, with interest from the Championship too.
