Northern Ireland star Chris Brunt given fans backing after angry rant
West Brom supporters have given their backing to Chris Brunt following his dressing room outburst after the 2-1 defeat to Huddersfield on Saturday.
The Northern Ireland international sparked controversy after letting rip at his team-mates and manager Alan Pardew as frustration over the club's relegation fight reached boiling point.
Brunt, who is in his 11th season with the Baggies, was the last man off the field after applauding all four corners of The Hawthorns after the loss and supporters have largely welcomed his passionate verbal volley.
Ross Giles commented: "I'll happily admit I was very wrong about Chris Brunt. About five years ago I was saying past his sell-by date and time to move him on. A man who genuinely cares about the club. I'm sorry."
Martin Johnson added: "Reading about Chris Brunt's rant and I think fair play to the guy he's the only one that shows fight and passion and that's what we need at the moment."
