Blackburn manager Steve Kean will be sweating on the fitness of Christopher Samba and Junior Hoilett ahead of next Sunday's nail-biting Premier League climax at Wolves.

Both men were forced out of Saturday's 1-1 draw with Manchester United after suffering hamstring injuries.

Kean reported Hoilett's departure had been precautionary. But Samba had to be "dragged off" to prevent the Rovers skipper suffering any more damage.

The pair will now be monitored during the week with the aim of being able to play a full part at Molineux, when a point will almost certainly guarantee survival.

"The point we got could be very valuable next week," said Kean, whose side were criticised by some sections of the Blackburn support for failing to try and get a winner once Wayne Rooney had levelled Brett Emerton's first-half strike.

"It is very tight down there but all we can do is what we have done over the last eight weeks," added Kean.

"We have chipped away with six results in our last eight games. That is one positive. We have got the best goal difference. That is another.
