Salgado set for Rovers exit
Veteran defender Michel Salgado will be allowed to leave Blackburn when the transfer window opens next month.
Salgado is currently missing through injury but talks have taken place in Madrid between Rovers and the player's representative when it was confirmed this season would be his last at Ewood Park.
"Michel won't be here next season," said Kean. "If there is an opportunity for him to find another solution in this window that is something we would look at. (It is) out of respect for the player to give him the heads up that this will be his last season."
With injuries biting deep into his squad following confirmation Scott Dann is going to be out for six weeks after requiring groin surgery on an injury he suffered as he scored in Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to West Brom, Kean is looking for a glimmer of optimism.
And it comes in the knowledge Martin Olsson could be back for the New Year's Eve trip to Manchester United after a change of treatment on the hamstring injury that has troubled the 23-year-old for the past six weeks is finally starting to ease.
"It was going into a spasm," said Kean.
"He has had a bit of manipulation on it and is now in the hands of our medical team.
"At first, we were very aggressive in our treatment to try and get him back out onto the pitch.
"That wasn't working so we backed off it and changed the way we are treating it.
"Thankfully it has settled down and I think he will be available for the Manchester United game."
