Top six sides strengthen but Manchester City pull out of deal to sign Riyad Mahrez: transfer deadline day
Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea all strengthened on transfer deadline day but Manchester City have pulled out of a deal to land RIYAD MAHREZ.
Manchester City are flying high at the top of the table but after Leroy Sane was ruled out for around six weeks with an ankle injury, they made four offers for RIYAD MAHREZ, according to Sky Sports. That last deal was said to be worth a total of around £65 million, including an unnamed player going to Leicester. But Sky have now reported that City have pulled out of the deal.
PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG's move to the Emirates has gone through The Gabon forward has joined the Gunners on a long-term contract for a club-record fee, which is reported to be in the region of £56million.
That move paved the way for Chelsea to bring in a forward of their own. That's Arsenal's OLIVIER GIROUD, after the clubs agreed an £18 million deal and the player signed an 18-month deal at Stamford Bridge
Aubameyang's confirmed arrival was also followed by Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi heading to Dortmund on a loan deal.
Tottenham, meanwhile, signed PSG's LUCAS MOURA for a reported fee of around £25 million. The move is Tottenham's first deadline day signing since they brought in Dele Alli in 2015.
