Victory roar: Manchester United goalscorer Paul Pogba celebrates with Bruno Fernandes and Victor Lindelof

Manchester United last night moved only one point off the top four with a 3-0 win at struggling Aston Villa.

A hotly-contested Bruno Fernandes penalty and Mason Greenwood's 16th goal of the season had the visitors cruising at the break before Paul Pogba made the victory more emphatic.

United are one point behind fourth-placed Leicester City while Villa remain four points from safety.

Goalkeeper David de Gea made his 399th appearance for United, surpassing Peter Schmeichel's record as an overseas player for the club.

Southampton drew 1-1 at Everton while Bournemouth and Tottenham failed to score at Vitality Stadium.

In the Championship, Leeds United hammered Michael O'Neill's Stoke City 5-0.
