Van Dijk set for Liverpool move and Reds will beat Chelsea to sign Oxlade-Chamberlain: transfer rumours
Liverpool could land two major signings before the close of the transfer window, according to the latest rumours.
Popular Twitter account IndyKaila on Saturday morning claimed that Liverpool and Southampton have agreed a fee for the transfer of centre-back VIRGIL VAN DIJK.
The Dutch defender has been the subject of a transfer saga that has lasted the duration of the window. Liverpool were forced to back off and apologise for the manner of their pursuit of Van Dijk earlier this summer but he has since handed in a transfer request at St Mary's and hasn't featured in any of Saints' competitive fixtures so far this season.
Chelsea are also reported to be interested in the 26 year-old but IndyKaila's reports suggest Liverpool are in pole position.
The Mirror report that the Reds could be set to beat the Blues to another signing - that of Arsenal's ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN. The paper reports that the England international has rejected a new £180,000-a-week contract at the Emirates and that Arsenal will sell if a club bids over £35 million.
Chelsea were thought to be in pole position but now the Mirror says the Ox's team-mates reckon he is more likely to end up at Anfield.
