Vardy's parting shot at Wenger helps down misfiring Gunners

Leicester City 3 Arsenal 1

By Nick Mashiter

Jamie Vardy returned to haunt Arsene Wenger on his farewell tour as Leicester cruised past 10-man Arsenal 3-1.

The Gunners could still end the season pointless away from home in 2018 after Vardy netted his sixth goal in his last six games against Wenger, who will leave Arsenal after Sunday's trip to now-safe Huddersfield.

Kelechi Iheanacho opened the scoring in the 14th minute just 92 seconds before Konstantinos Mavropanos was dismissed for the visitors.

Mavropanos was red carded after being caught in possession by Iheanacho and hauling the striker down.

Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang levelled but Vardy's penalty - after Demarai Gray was brought down by Henrikh Mkhitaryan - and Riyad Mahrez's late goal settled the game, leaving the Gunners with the same away record as relegated West Brom ahead of Sunday's finale.
