Aston Villa manager Dean Smith believes his side can make a big splash in the Premier League after they clinched promotion with a 2-1 win over Derby County in the play-off final at Wembley.

Anwar el Ghazi and John McGinn netted Villa's goals as they returned to the top flight after a three-year absence by sinking Frank Lampard's Rams.

Villa's win is also worth around £170m to the club due to the increased TV revenue in the Premier League, making them the annual winners of football's richest game.

"I believe pressure is what you put on yourself, we work hard every day, the only difference is expectation," said a delighted Smith.

"We've got two owners with a lot of money, and are in it for the long haul. The potential now is massive."
