Where could wantaway Everton striker Romelu Lukaku end up?
Striker Romelu Lukaku's announcement he will not be signing the new contract offered to him by Everton will have put some of Europe's top clubs on full alert.
There are only a handful of sides who could afford the £70million-plus the Toffees would be looking for and here Press Association Sport looks at who may be interested come the summer.
The Belgium international's former club tried to re-sign him last summer but were rebuffed on several occasions. However, with the future of Diego Costa far from certain they could be in the market for a younger model.
United also have uncertainties surrounding their forward line with Zlatan Ibrahimovic not yet committing himself to a 12-month extension option and Wayne Rooney out of favour and exploring options in China.
PARIS ST GERMAIN
Another club with wealthy backers who could compete for Lukaku's signature should they wish. Edinson Cavani turns 31 next year and the French club may look for fresher legs.
With Karim Benzema approaching his 30th birthday and Cristiano Ronaldo now 32, Real's forward line is going to need an overhaul at some point. Lukaku, at 23, could offer a long-term solution which would offset the considerable outlay.
Something of an outsider and certainly if they do not sell Antoine Griezmann in the next transfer window then they would not be able to afford Lukaku's price tag. Also, struggles this season have shown Champions League football is not a given.
Having signed Gonzalo Higuain last summer for £76million the chances of the Italian club matching that again 12 months on seem unlikely, but Lukaku's Italian agent Mino Raiola has good connections at the club and they do guarantee Champions League football every season.
