Rangers land hitman Healy

Rangers have taken over David Healy's contract until the end of the season after confirming the signing of the striker.

It was initially thought the 31-year-old, a boyhood fan of the Ibrox club, had signed on loan from Sunderland.

However, Rangers have recruited the player on a permanant deal, although it is understood there was no transfer fee involved in the move.

The Scottish champions were keen to add to their squad before the end of the transfer window following the departure of Kenny Miller to Bursaspor.

Healy, who previously had loan spells at Ipswich and Doncaster, is set to be presented to the media on Tuesday.
