Bans will stop the divers

After watching Grant Holt fooling Mark Clattenburg into giving Norwich a penalty on Saturday I feel it is time for the FA in England to follow the SFA by introducing retrospective action.

Diving – and effectively cheating – is still in the game and the sooner players start getting reprimanded for their actions after the game the quicker it will disappear.

Sone Aluko, while at Rangers, had a two game ban handed to him for winning a penalty that was deemed to have been a dive.

That has now made players in Scotland think twice before going to ground easily.

Santi Corzola, Luis Suarez and Gareth Bale have all made headlines this season for going down after minimal contact and it's a side of the game we need eradicated. The threat of a suspension would tidy up the problem very quickly.
