Brighton swoop to steal top Celtic target as former Liverpool midfielder seeks Rangers move: Old Firm transfer rumours
Celtic could be set to lose out on a high-profile target while a former Premier League midfielder says he'd love a move to Rangers, all in today's rumour mill.
Celtic have been involved in a long and public pursuit of Hibernian midfielder John McGinn.
The Scotland star and have had three bids, of £1.5m, £1.75m and £2m, rejected. With Hibs value double that at £4m, there had been speculation the 23-year-old was willing to wait until next summer when, with his contract expiring, he could move on a free transfer.
Now it seems the Hoops could miss out on the player altogether. That's according to Sky Sports, who report Premier League Brighton have held talks with Hibs over the player.
Meanwhile, former Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam says he will always be open to a move back to Rangers.
The 32-year-old began his career at Ibrox before moving to Blackpool in 2009.
He's preparing to begin his seventh season at recently-relegated Stoke City but, while co-hosting a TalkSport programme on Thursday, he confessed he would love to return to his former side.
"It is something that would always interest me to do, but at the moment I’m contracted to Stoke and I’m looking forward to the start of the season," he said.
"It’s a wonderful football club. I started there are learned my trade there, and I enjoyed Glasgow as a city."
