Celtic have brought Elilio Izaguirre back to Glasgow and are expected to close out another summer signing soon.
The Hoops have completed a deal to bring Izaguirre back to the club on a one-year deal. The 32-year-old left the club to join Al Feiha for a reported €1.4m last summer. The full-back ended his contract with the Saudi club early and was a free agent this summer. He made 252 appearances during his seven-year stay at Celtic Park and returns to provide competition for Kieran Tierney.
Celtic also look set to finalise a deal for Australian wonderkid Daniel Arzani today after the player passed a medical, according to Sky Sports. The 19-year-old has moved to Manchester City from Melbourne City and the Hoops are confident he will immediately head north on a two-year loan. Arzani made three substitute appearances at this year's World Cup finals. Manchester City and Melbourne City share the same owners.
Meanwhile, Celtic target John McGinn has completed his move to Sky Bet Championship side Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee, signing a four-year deal. Brendan Rodgers' Hoops were said to have had three bids rejected for the Scottish midfielder earlier in the window, their highest offer of £2m well short of Hibs' supposed valuation of £4m.
Over at Rangers, Declan John and Josh Windass have left Ibrox. Following the summer signings of Jon Flanagan and, more recently, Borna Barisic, left-back John has been allowed to leave. While Ipswich were said to be interested, Swansea City won the battle for the 23-year-old Welsh international, who signed a a three-year deal at the Liberty Stadium.
Windass has moved to Wigan for £2.5m, with boss Gerrard explaining the decision to let the club's top-scorer depart.
Yesterday's rumours suggested the Gers may be looking at alternatives to Kyle Lafferty. The club had an initial bid turned down for the Northern Ireland international and with talk on that move going quiet, the Gers have now been linked with two more forwards.
Bizarrely, they are both Bosnian. The first is former Liverpool striker Armin Hodzic, who spent two years at Liverpool from 2012 to 2014. The 23-year-old now plays for Dinamo Zagreb, for whom he has scored 50 goals in 110 appearances. The Daily Record report that Rangers were due to watch the player in Zagreb's Champions League game against Astana last night.
The second Bosnian star linked with a move to Ibrox is FK Krupa's Elvir Koljic. His club's president Drasko Ilic has claimed Rangers have already bid for the 23-year-old, along with Panathanaikos, French Ligue 2 side Red Star and Belgians Waasland-Beveren. Ilic went on to say that the club are still waiting for an acceptable offer.
