Brendan Rodgers 'number one contender' for Celtic job - reports

Celtic are reportedly in talks to bring ex-Liverpool boss and Co Antrim man Brendan Rodgers to the club.

Celtic are without a manager after Robby Deila stepped down after securing the Hoops fifth successive league.

Sky Sports reported that Rodgers - who was sacked by Liverpool last year - is the number one candidate for the job and was expected to be interviewed on Tuesday.

Martin O'Neill, Neil Lennon, Roy Keane and Malky McKay have all been touted as potential replacements to take charge in the Parkhead dugout next season.

Carnlough man Rodgers was the first sacking in the Premier League this season and was replaced by German Jurgen Klopp who has guided the Reds to the Europa League final.
