Celtic superfan Jay Beatty meets Roy Keane, the Manchester United legend with a heart of gold

By Staff Reporter

Little Jay Beatty sparked the biggest roar of the day at Celtic Park when he recreated an award-winning goal at the home of his heroes.

The Celtic superfan from Lurgan was brought on to the pitch at half-time during yesterday's clash with Aberdeen to pick up his prize for winning January's Scottish Goal of the Month from defender Charlie Mulgrew.

The 11-year-old's penalty kick during the interval of Celtic's 2-0 game against Hamilton won the support of an incredible 97% of fans who voted.

The 50,000-strong crowd roared "Come on the Hoops" as Jay lifted his award.

Beforehand, he got the chance to meet former Celtic and Manchester United star Roy Keane.

Jay, who has Down's syndrome, then had fans on their feet again when he found the net for a second time, putting one past Celtic development squad goalkeeper Leo Fasan.
