Northern Ireland goalkeeper Conor Hazard started as Leigh Griffiths made his return in scoring fashion as Celtic began their pre-season with a 6-1 win over SC Pinkafeld in Austria.

Hazard from Downpatrick could feature for the Celts this season after loan spells with Falkirk and Partick Thistle over the last two seasons.

The hosts took a lead midway through the first half as a powerful free-kick from Dominik Sperl was spilled by Hazard, allowing Michael Pahr to follow in and tap home.

Hazard then made a fantastic reaction save from a free-kick on 33 minutes as he tipped a powerful free-kick over the bar.

However Griffiths equalised a minute later in his first match since December to make it 1-1 at the break after Calvin Miller squared the ball to him.

Second half goals from Ewan Henderson, Jack Aitchison, Armstrong Okoflex and double from Mikey Johnston were to follow as Neil Lennon’s side ran out 6-1 winners.
