Linfield 0-2 Celtic reaction: I got a pound coin so I came away with a profit, says Celtic captain Scott Brown

Celtic captain Scott Brown says his side are well used to hostile atmospheres after they came away from Windsor Park with a 2-0 victory.

The game was marred by an incident during the second half when objects, including a Buckfast bottle, were thrown towards Leigh Griffiths.

When asked if he had been hit by any objects, Brown responded: "No, I got a pound coin so I came away with a profit.

"We just concentrate on what's happening on the pitch. It's football. It happens. We've been to Tynecastle, been to Ibrox and it's like that all the time. It's part and parcel of football."

After the incident, Griffiths seemed to show an object to the referee before stopping for a second time to talk to the official, and he was then shown a yellow card.

"Yeah that's a weird booking," said Brown. "There were bottles and coins being thrown at him but we take that on the cheek and deal with it. There's a bit of common sense you need to use sometimes but maybe the ref didn't see it."

As for the performance, Brown says it was a case of job done in Belfast:

"It's pre-season still for us. It was alright. There's been a lot worse. We got the two goals and did what we needed to do."
