Odds slashed for Northern Ireland boss Michael O'Neill to take Celtic job
The odds of Northern Ireland Manager Michael O'Neill becoming the new Celtic boss have been slashed
The Ballymena man is now at 3/1 - the same odds as Hoops interim Neil Lennon - after a flurry of bets. O'Neill's price has come in from 33/1 yesterday.
Current Belgium head coach and former Everton, Swansea City and Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez is the favourite for the job at 3/11 while other names in the frame for the Parkhead role are current Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez and former Chelsea and Spurs manager Andre Villas Boas.
One candidate who definitely won't be moving to Scotland following Brendan Rodgers' departure to Leicester City earlier this year is Red Bull Salzburg manager Marco Rose after he confirmed he would be taking over at Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer.
O'Neill, who is believed to have turned down the Celtic job before Northern Ireland's Euro 2016 campaign in France, has worked in Scotland before, at Brechin City for what was his first management job after hanging up his boots.
If he was to take over at the Glasgow giants, the 49-year-old would be the fourth Northern Irishman to manage Celtic out of their last seven bosses following Lennon, Rodgers and Martin O'Neill.
He signed a new four-year deal to remain as Northern Ireland Manager in February 2018 and led the Green and White Army to successive victories at home to Estonia and Belarus in their opening two Euro 2020 qualifying matches.
