Rangers are set to tie up their 13th summer signing today but face competition from Celtic over another potential recruit, according to the latest transfer rumours.

Set to sign today is NK Osijek's Eros Grezda. The winger is understood to have completed a medical ahead of his £2m move and is expected to finalise a three-year deal at Ibrox. The two clubs, of course, met in Europa League qualification earlier this summer and have already been engaged in transfer business, Gerrard swooping to sign Osijek's Croatian full-back Borsa Barisic. Grezda, 23, has six caps for Albania and arrived at Osijek last summer from Lokomotiva Zagreb.

Even after Grezda arrives at Ibrox, Gerrard may yet add another wide player to his panel. That's in the form of Newcastle United's Rolando Aarons. Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez has even admitted a move to Glasgow is a possibility and the 22-year-old's future now lies in the Magpies' boss' hands.

“We have two or three teams interested in him," said Benitez. “He will not be in the squad for Forest because I have to decide if he goes on loan. Clearly it will be good for him. He’s not playing and he hasn’t played in the last year too much either. He has the potential to be a good player so he must play."

Next on Gerrard's list is Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall. A loan deal is close to being agreed, claims the Daily Record, after Gerrard personally assured Worrall's parent club that he would get regular game-time at Ibrox. However, popular source of reliable Rangers rumours, Twitter account @ESTConsultancy, has now indicated that Celtic are one of a few teams to provide alternative options for the centre-half.

Worrall is a former England U18 captain and has been a key part of the England U21 side in their qualifying campaign for next year's UEFA U21 Championships. Worrall started 28 Championship games last season but has yet to be involved in a first-team squad this term after the club spent £20m on summer recruits.

Over at Celtic, Lyon have made an enquiry for striker Moussa Dembele, according to the Daily Record. The report claims the club are ready to shell out over £15m to secure Dembele's signature and that they'll have to fight off interest from Marseille, who were said to have scouts watching the forward during last weekend's 1-0 victory over Hamilton.
