Rangers’ Old Firm domination has set the standard for Wylde

By Lisa Gray

Gregg Wylde has urged Rangers to build on their Old Firm derby success in the weeks ahead.

The Scottish champions staged an impressive comeback at Ibrox on Sunday to win 4-2 despite trailing to Celtic at half-time.

The holders now face a trip to Falkirk in the third round of the Scottish Communities League Cup tomorrow night before returning to SPL action with a visit to Dunfermline at the weekend.

And youngster Wylde wants to see more of the same from Rangers.

He said: “We're unbeaten now in five games and hopefully we can keep that going. We have a tough cup tie at Falkirk who are a good First Division outfit.

“Then it's Dunfermline away and hopefully we can kick on from this result and keep picking up wins.

“It's always great to get a win from the first Old Firm game of the season and we're just delighted to get the three points.”

The win allowed Rangers to move four points clear of their rivals at the summit of the Scottish Premier League.

Wylde said: “The second-half was great right from the first minute through to the last minute of injury time.

“We managed to get it to 3-2 and then right at the end in the corner I spotted David Healy and he got it to Steven Davis to deliver a great ball for the fourth.

“The atmosphere was brilliant to play in and I had all my family and friends there and I'm just delighted to get a win in the first derby of the season.”
