Rangers will finish top of the pile, insists Weiss
Vladimir Weiss expects Rangers to be crowned Scottish champions this season after claiming they have the best players in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League.
The winger admits the Ibrox side are still smarting following their defeat to Hearts at the weekend but has every faith in their ability to bounce back against Hibernian tonight.
Weiss accepts that Hearts must now be regarded as serious title contenders along with Celtic but still firmly believes reigning champions Rangers will come out on top again.
He said: “It's not going to be easy but if we play well, I think we've got the best squad in the SPL at the moment.
“If we carry on playing well, we should win the league.
“After the disappointment of Saturday, we need to keep our heads up. There are a lot of games coming up now.
“We need to get the three points and to bounce back. I think we played really well against Hearts, especially in the first half.
“We had two or three good chances to score and the confidence is still there.
“It was a very disappointing result for us but we've still got two games in hand over Celtic and hopefully everything goes well for us.”
Meanwhile, Walter Smith has revealed Kris Commons is a January target as he bids to add versatile players to his squad this month.
Smith has refused to rule out an instant move for the Derby and Scotland winger, who is out of contract in the summer.
“He's someone we would be interested in trying to get,” he said. “We have made an enquiry and we are in talks with Derby to see what the situation is with him.”
