Rangers eye up a move for Wigan midfielder, say reports

If he's half as good as his name suggests, he'll be a fine signing

Rangers' new season could be ramped up to Max Power as they target the wonderfully named Wigan midfielder, according to reports.

The 24 year-old could be allowed to leave his current club for a cut-price fee of £500,000, according to the Daily Mail, who also report that Power won't feature again for the Latics while the transfer window is still open.

He played 45 games last season but reportedly said he wanted to play at a higher level after Wigan's relegation to League One. The Wirral man came up through the ranks at Tranmere Rovers but transferred to Wigan in 2015.

The Daily Mail report that Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City are also interested in Power.

Meanwhile, Sunderland are being tipped with a move for Rangers' Martyn Waghorn and Hearts are on the look out for a new manager after sacking Ian Cathro. Three Northern Irishmen and one NI coach have been linked with the role.
