Rangers star Alfredo Morelos free for Old Firm derby after escaping ban
Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos will be able to take on Celtic after fears he would be banned for the tie were ended today.
Morelos was up in front of a disciplinary panel for reacting angrily to Kilmarnock's Kirk Broadfoot during their 1-1 draw at Ibrox at the weekend.
The pair were involved in an altercation after the full-time whistle, with the Colombian outraged when Broadfoot appeared to kick out at his Achilles.
There was no action taken by the referee, Greg Aitken, at the time, and upon further review of the incident, SFA compliance officer Clare Whyte agreed with the official and decided to take no further action.
That means Morelos will be available to Steven Gerrard for the big game - which is at Parkhead on Sunday, March 31 - and will undoubtedly be a huge boost.
The 22-year-old has been in stunning form this season, netting 29 goals, and will add an extra dimension to Rangers' attack in the big game.
